Court confirms Atta Tarar’s interim bail in Punjab Assembly riot case

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Attaullah Tarar’s interim bail in the Punjab Assembly riot case has been confirmed.

Former minister Attaullah Tarar, Rana Mashhood, Mirza Javed, Rukhsana Kausar, Awais Leghari, Malik Habib Awan, Bilal Tarar and other League leaders reached the Sessions Court seeking bail in the Punjab Assembly riot case on Monday.

Talking to the media outside the Session Court, Attaullah Tarar claimed that he was granted bail because there was no evidence against him. He said that the entire focus of the Punjab government is only on providing jobs to Gujarat and its own people, while no one cares enough to solve the flour shortage and other problems being faced by public.

Punjab government won’t last long, he said.

The PML-N leader added that billions of people have become homeless due to natural calamity in the country and federal government has been taking measures for relief and rehabilitation of the flood hit areas. On the other hand the government seems absent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

He also shamed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership for carrying on with their political activities, even when the country is going through harsh times and people are suffering. A political party is holding rallies by spending crores of rupees, he said.

Furthermore, he said that the federal government should not be held responsible for shortage of flour and medicines after the 18th Amendment.
