Gulalai seeks action against PTI for ‘anti-army campaign’

ISLAMABAD:Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Ayesha Gulalai Wazir on Monday demanded that the Supreme Court take suo motu notice of the anti-army campaign being allegedly run by the former ruling party.

In a petition addressed to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial, she demanded that former prime minister Imran Khan should be tried for treason.

She also sought a ban on the former ruling party and called for Imran’s name to be included in the Exit Control List (ECL).

She alleged that the PTI chief’s forces were dragging Pakistan Army into politics in a “shameful manner”, and he was provoking a confrontation between the military and the people.

She also alleged that the provincial government recruited party workers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) with Rs736 million.
