Donald Blome calls on AJK PM at his Palace in Rawalakot

The ambassador of the United States to Pakistan, Donald Blome Tuesday visited Rawalakot of Azad Jammu Kashmir on the invitation of Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan.

The envoy received a red-carpet welcome at Sardar Palace in Rawalakot.  Both the dignities discussed various issues like the Kashmir freedom movement and development projects of AJK including tourism, hydel power generation, and employment. 

The American envoy was given a detailed briefing on the establishment of the Special Economic Zone and Dry Port in Azad Kashmir.

The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu Kashmir informed the American Ambassador about the Indian aggression in occupied Kashmir and stressed the need for a solution acceptable to the Kashmiris. 

Donald Bloom was also told about the investment in tourism and the hydraulic sector in the valley. The US ambassador was told that there are vast opportunities for human resources in Azad Kashmir. 

The global community can take benefit from the human resources of Azad Kashmir in the fields of outsourcing, consultancy, and IT services. 

The US Ambassador was also briefed on the business opportunities of SMEs, Arts and Crafts. Currently, 600 billion dollars are being invested in this sector globally while Azad Kashmir has vast opportunities within this sector. 

The American Ambassador was informed that the literacy rate of Azad Kashmir is the highest at the national level.

An academic exchange program should be started with American universities for the students of the educational institutions of Azad Kashmir. 

Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan also suggested to the US ambassador about energy generation from the western countries and the exchange of technology in the fields of agriculture.
