PM Shehbaz to depart for US today, schedule to attend Joe Biden’s dinner

 Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will tonight depart for the United States from London where he is scheduled to attend the dinner being hosted by President Joe Biden on September 21.

The Prime Minister will represent Pakistan in the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly. He will arrive in New York after attending the funeral of the Britain’s Queen in London.

During his stay in New York, Shehbaz Sharif will have important bilateral meetings with the leaders of other countries. On September 20, the premier will attend the reception of the Secretary General of the United Nations.

On September 20, PM Shehbaz is scheduled to meet the French President, Austrian Chancellor, President of Spain, President of the European Union Council, Charles Michael.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister will also participate in the  Global Food Security Summit , the summit is organized by presidents of Senegal and the African Union.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will hold a number of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from various countries, President of the General Assembly, the UN Secretary-General as well as heads of International Organisations, IFIs and philanthropic organisations.

“The prime minister’s participation in the UNGA Session is a manifestation of Pakistan’s abiding commitment to multilateralism, with the UN playing a central role in international affairs for promoting peace and prosperity worldwide,” it was added.
